Corn

Astarta-Agrotrading 1 Corn is one of the most popular grain crops in Russia. It is grown not only in traditional grain-producing regions, but also in the Volga region, in particular in Tatarstan, Saratov and Volgograd regions. In the Saratov region, growing corn is of particular importance for agriculture. Here, on vast arable lands, large agro-industrial associations specializing in the production of this crop are actively working. The natural and climatic conditions of the Saratov region are ideal for growing corn. Hot and dry summers, combined with sufficient amounts of solar heat and precipitation, contribute to its growth and development. Therefore, it is in this region that they prefer to grow popular corn hybrids, such as “Ladozhskaya”, “Aksaiskaya”, “Poltavskaya”. Corn from the Volga region is of high quality and value. It is used in the food industry for the production of starch and corn oil, as well as in the feed industry for the production of animal feed. In addition, it finds application in other areas of agriculture and industry. In 2024, the following regions became the leaders in terms of area under corn:
  1. Krasnodar region;
  2. Voronezh region;
  3. Kursk region;
  4. Saratov region;
  5. Tambov region.
