Currently, lentils in Russia grow in the Volga region, the Central Black Earth regions of the country, in small areas of Tatarstan, Mordovia, Chuvashia, and western regions of Siberia.
The leaders in lentil sown areas are Altai Territory, Saratov and Omsk regions. About 86% of finished product output is produced by enterprises of the Siberian and Volga Federal Districts.
