In recent years, Russia has seen an increase in the area under wheat, which reached record levels in 2023.

According to Rosstat, in 2023 the total area under wheat in Russia amounted to 29,753.9 thousand hectares. The gross wheat harvest reached 92.9 tons.

Among the leading regions in wheat production in 2023 are the Rostov region, Krasnodar region, Stavropol region, Volgograd, Saratov, Voronezh, Kursk, Tambov regions, Altai region and Oryol region. These regions accounted for 42% of all collections, and if we consider the TOP 10 regions in terms of collections, their share is 57.1%.

The Russian wheat market is becoming increasingly export-oriented.

In the Saratov region in 2023, 1,427.4 thousand hectares were sown with wheat, and the gross harvest was 4,010.4 tons.
