Russia ranks third in the world in rye production, second only to Germany and Poland. In 2021, the gross rye harvest in Russia was approximately 1.72 million tons, which is about 13% of the total world rye production. According to data for 2023, the gross harvest of rye in Russia is expected to reach 2 million tons, which will fully satisfy the needs for raw materials for bakers and flour millers.

The role of rye in agriculture of the Saratov region
