Saratov farmers harvested a million hectares of sunflowers

Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government - Regional Minister of Agriculture Roman Kovalsky said that a million hectares of sunflowers have already been harvested in the Saratov region. Sunflower harvesting has been completed in two districts of the region - St. Petersburg and Engels. Farmers from nine districts have already harvested more than 80% of the area.

The gross harvest as of October 17 is 1390.5 thousand tons, which is 69.2% of the total area. Over the past 24 hours, another 54 thousand tons were collected. The pace of harvesting is still higher than last year. Subject to favorable weather, it is planned to complete the sunflower harvest by November 1.
