The Saratov Ministry of Agriculture reported the collection of 5.5 million tons of grain

Farmers from the Saratov region harvested 5.519 million tons of grain with an average yield of 24.6 centners per hectare. This is 20% higher than the average over the past five years.

During an online meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, Deputy Chairman of the regional government and Minister of Agriculture Roman Kovalsky announced these data.

As Kovalsky noted, it is planned to collect 5.9 million tons of grain by the end of the current year, which is 30% higher than the average for the last five years.

Last year, the region reported harvesting 6 million tons of grain.

The Deputy Chairman noted that intense rainfall had an impact on the sunflower harvesting process. At the moment, 79% of the areas have already been cleaned.

The Ministry emphasized that agricultural producers in the Saratov region do not have problems obtaining diesel fuel.
