A million tons of sunflowers were harvested in the Saratov region

The first million tons of sunflower were harvested in the region. The gross harvest amounted to 1 million 84 thousand tons with a yield of 14.9 c/ha. 728 thousand tons were harvested, which is 47% of the plan.

Over the past four years, we have been ranked first in the Volga Federal District in the production of sunflower oilseeds and are among the leading regions of the Russian Federation. We plan to collect more than 2 million tons.

Which is also a record for the last few years,” said Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government - Minister of Agriculture of the region Roman Kovalsky.

The largest amount collected to date has been in the Samoilovsky district - 81.3 thousand tons, Arkadaksky district - 65.9 thousand tons, Kalininsky district - 56 thousand tons, Balashovsky district - 50.4 thousand tons.

In terms of yield, the leaders are Arkadaksky MR (21.9 c/ha), Markskovsky MR (20.7 c/ha), Samoilovsky MR (19.3 c/ha).

In total, according to operational data from the regional Ministry of Agriculture as of November 14, 6 million 217 thousand tons of grain and leguminous crops were harvested in the region.
