The region collected 6.8 million tons of grain. This is the best result in the last 40 years

This year in the history of our region will be remembered for a record harvest. To date, 6.8 million tons of grain have already been collected. This is the best result in the last 40 years. 73% of the total volume of harvested grain – 4.9 million tons – falls on wheat.

This year, flour production in the region has increased by more than 20%. Based on the results of nine months, the region is in first place in the Volga Federal District and ranks sixth among Russian regions in its production.

The region is also a leader in the Volga Federal District and one of the top three Russian regions for pasta production.

Local varieties of durum wheat, the gross harvest of which in 2022 doubled and amounted to 84.9 thousand tons.
