The first million hectares of spring crops have been sown in the Saratov region

In the Saratov region, farmers passed an important milestone during spring field work - the first million hectares of spring crops were sown. This significant figure indicates the high pace of sowing and the diligence of farmers in the region.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Saratov Region, as of May 8, spring sowing was carried out on an area of ​​1,087,900 hectares, which is 37.5% of the planned volume. The leading positions in terms of the pace of spring field work are occupied by the farms of the Rivne and Krasnokutsk districts, where more than 80% and 70% of the planned areas are sown, respectively.

High performance was also demonstrated by farmers of the Balashovsky, Rtishchevsky, Turkovsky, Petrovsky, Arkadaksky, Novoburassky, Lysogorsky, Dukhovnitsky, Sovetsky, Engelssky and Aleksandrovogaysky municipal districts, where 50 to 60% of the planned land was sown with spring crops. Six more districts of the region are located close to the spring sowing equator.

Deputy Chairman of the Regional Government - Minister of Agriculture Roman Kovalsky noted that 12 districts have already completely completed sowing spring wheat, and in 9 districts the barley sowing campaign has come to an end. He also recalled that the website of the regional Ministry of Agriculture contains recommendations for treating crops that will help reduce plant stress from abnormally low temperatures.

Timely and high-quality sowing is the key to the future harvest. Overcoming an important milestone in the form of the first million sown hectares is a good help for the farmers of the Saratov region in their hard work for the benefit of the region and the whole country.
