The gross grain harvest in the Saratov region is approaching 4 million tons

Today, grain growers from the Romanovsky, Atkarsky and Krasnopartizansky districts collected the first 100,000 tons of grain from the new harvest. This significantly increased the region's total yield to 4 million tons of grain. Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Saratov Region and Minister of Agriculture of the Region, Roman Kovalsky, reported that by August 15, the gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 3,924.6 thousand tons of grain with a yield of 26 centners/hectare. Over the past 24 hours, another 103.4 thousand tons of grain were collected. The yield is 64.6% of the total sown area, which is 1510.5 thousand hectares.
Harvesting of winter crops is almost complete, 92.5% of winter wheat and 95.1% of winter rye have been harvested. 34.5% of spring grain and leguminous crops were also harvested. In the Rivne, Engel and St. Petersburg municipal districts, more than 80% of the areas have been cleaned. Half of the mustard acreage has also been harvested, and flax and safflower harvesting continues.
In addition to cleaning, work continues on filling seeds of winter crops, plowing plowed land and sowing winter crops. As of August 15, 193 thousand tons of winter grain seeds were poured, which is 89% of the total requirement of 216 thousand tons, Roman Kovalsky said.
